Join Nepal Youth Foundation for a special evening of community, culture, and celebration in Denver as we look ahead to Tihar, Nepal’s Festival of Lights.

We’ll gather with members of the NYF community to enjoy homemade Nepali food, celebrate Nepali culture and traditions, hear updates from NYF, and spend time together in support of children and young people in Nepal.

About Dashain & Tihar

Dashain is Nepal’s longest Hindu festival and a time for family, blessings, and togetherness. Celebrated over 15 days, it honors the victory of good over evil and brings families and communities together across Nepal.

Tihar, also known as Nepal’s Festival of Lights, is a five-day Hindu festival celebrating light over darkness and the special bonds between people, animals, nature, and the divine.

The five days of Tihar are:

• Kaag Tihar — honoring crows
• Kukur Tihar — honoring dogs
• Gai Tihar & Lakshmi Puja — honoring cows and Goddess Lakshmi
• Goru Tihar, Govardhan Puja & Mha Puja — honoring oxen, nature, and oneself
• Bhai Tika — celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters
