The NYF team visited families from upper Rasuwa who have temporarily relocated to the Swayambhu area of Kathmandu. These families all still have loved ones missing from the floods back home in Rasuwa, many of whom were the primary wage earners in their households. During these visits, NYF gathered information about each family, the larger community, and what their current needs are. As an immediate response, NYF provided eight families with one month’s supply of food, along with additional supplements for pregnant and lactating women. Our team is also identifying shelter options and coordinating school enrollment so education can be continued for their children.
