For over 30 years, NYF has been hard at work supporting Nepal’s journey by educating, healing, sheltering, and freeing its children. Lasting, sustainable change comes slowly. The work is multifaceted, complex, and deep-rooted. Each transformation is an inspiration.

With holistic programs developed, led, and implemented by Nepalese citizens on the ground in the communities we serve, NYF focuses on providing children with the core gifts of Education, Health, Shelter, and Freedom.

These entwined values support the strong, healthy childhood development that forms the framework of independent and joyful adulthood. The kids we serve have vivid, beautiful, worthy dreams. We’re helping them make their world even better.

Empowering Nepali Dalits to access the resources they need to build the future they envision for themselves and their children.

Educating Dalit Lawyers

An enriched law school scholarship program for members Nepal’s “untouchable” castes who hope to become human rights lawyers.

Olgapuri Children’s Village

Olgapuri is a family-style home where up to 80 children receive personal attention, nutritious food, and a stable upbringing.

Nutritional Rehabilitation Homes

These special clinics support kids recovering from malnutrition – and empower parents to keep families healthy.

Scholarships for K-12 & College Students

In our decades of operation, NYF has grown into one of Nepal’s largest non-governmental scholarship providers.

Ankur Counseling Center

Ankur Counseling Center is Nepal’s first counseling center for children. Here, children develop emotional skills that support resilient growth!

New Life Center – Medical Recovery Home

The New Life Center provides supportive accommodation for rural children & families visiting Kathmandu for surgery, medical care & childbirth.

Kinship Care

Kinship Care keeps families together, supporting children living safely with grandparents, aunts & uncles, or adult siblings with stable homes.

Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

Nepali kids with disabilities face many challenges, including discrimination in education. Special NYF scholarships help them push back!

Nutrition Outreach Camps

Each 3-day camp provides 1,000+ rural children with free check-ups & nutritional screening, plus practical nutrition workshops for parents.

Olgapuri Vocational School

Comprehensive vocational education courses in the high-demand skilled trades required to build Nepal’s developing infrastructure.

Vocational Education & Career Counseling

Social workers link motivated young adults with resources & training to launch lucrative careers in Nepal’s growing economy.

COVID-19 Response

NYF’s powerful COVID-19 responses include nutrition programs, creative educational aid, emergency isolation housing, and more.

Historical Accomplishments

Empowering Freed Kamlaris / Indentured Daughters Program

From 2000-2020, NYF worked to free young girls from kitchen slavery & empowered them to change their country!

2015 Gorkha Earthquake Response

Following the devastating 2015 Gorkha earthquake, NYF responded rapidly & powerfully to bring children & families the support they needed.

New Life Center – HIV/AIDS

From 2006-2023, NYF’s focus on pediatric HIV/AIDS helped lower transmission rates, empowered hundreds of families, & raised awareness across Nepal.
