Emilie Calhoun
Advisory Board
For over twenty years, Emilie M. Calhoun has been working for individuals in trust and estate litigation and consultation matters, contentious trust administration, and financial elder abuse cases. Ms. Calhoun is passionate about protecting her clients’ interests, making sure that their voices are heard, and helping them to navigate the vagaries of our judicial system with perseverance and integrity.

Dipak Raj Onta and Samana Amatya
House Parents of Junior Boys at Olgapuri Children's Village
Dipak Raj Onta and Samana Amatya are the house parents of junior boys at Olgapuri Children’s Village. After the 2015 earthquake, Dipak managed the transit home that NYF had established in Gorkha for children displaced by the earthquake and also oversaw NYF’s EQ-scholarship program in the district. Both husband and wife joined NYF as house parents in January 2018. Samana is a fashion designer by profession.

Hem Prasad Shrestha and Binu Shrestha
House Parents of Senior Boys at Olgapuri Children’s Villlage
Hem Prasad Shrestha and Binu Shrestha are the house parents of senior boys at Olgapuri Children’s Villlage. The husband and wife pair joined NYF in March, 2020. Both of them have long experience of working with children as house parents.

Rameshwar Maskey and Mem Kumari Shrestha Maskey
House Parents of Junior Girls at Olgapuri Children’s Village
Rameshwar Maskey and Mem Kumari Shrestha Maskey are the new house parents of the Junior Girls at Olgapuri Children’s Village. They joined NYF in January 2025. The couple have over 30 years of experience working in the hydropower sector, and have two grown children who are now married.
Rameshwar had already retired, and Mem Kumari was still employed when they decided to take on this new role at Olgapuri. During their first visit to the village after learning about the vacancy, they immediately felt a deep connection with the children. They consider it an honor to dedicate their life ahead to caring for and nurturing the children at Olgapuri, offering them parental love and support.

Bhim Shrestha and Shreemaya Shrestha
House Parents of Senior Girls at Olgapuri Children’s Village
Bhim Shrestha and Shreemaya Shrestha are the house parents of senior girls at Olgapuri Children’s Village. The couple has many years of experience as house parents. Bhim is also a psychological counselor and holds a post graduate in Psychology and Bachelor’s degree in management.

Rajan Pandit
Manager of Liaison and Program Support
Rajan Pandit is the Manager of Liaison and Program Support. His role includes maintaining liaison with and reporting to the government and local stakeholders, documentation, and ensuring compliance with local laws. Rajan is himself a NYF student alumni, and joined NYF as a staff in 2011. As a student, he also got prestigious Fulbright scholarship under NESA-UGRAD program for a year in the US and studied at State University of New York (SUNY) Cobleskill.

Lalit Gahatraj
Caste Equality Project Coordinator
Lalit Gahatraj is the Caste Equality Project Coordinator at NYF. He was previously the Operations Manager, responsible for NYF’s important day-to-day operations at NYF. Lalit has been a long-time NYF employee. He joined the organization in 2004 and worked in NYF’s nutrition program for 11 years. After the earthquake in 2015, he managed the post-earthquake reconstruction project. In 2023, Lalit moved to the Saptari District to lead NYF’s most ambitious project yet: the Caste Equality Project.

Dipak Bhattarai
Account Manager
Dipak Bhattarai is the Account Manager at Nepal Youth Foundation-Nepal. He has over 13 years of experience in accountancy and has been working at NYF since 2005 with remarkable competency.

Umesh Raj Regmi
Program Coordinator of Education & Youth Empowerment
Umesh Raj Regmi has been leading NYF’s Education program since joining the organization in 2013. Prior to NYF, Umesh worked as a research scholar at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, USA. He holds a master’s degree in English.
